The Community Trek is a tour of Magar villages that give you the opportunity, through homestays, to experience the lifestyle of this proud and friendly ethnic group. The Magar people are rich in their traditional values, customs, dress, and jewelry, and are particularly well known for their hospitality.
The community Trek was established in 2010 to promote local products, culture, and support for village development through tourism. Scenically, the trail goes through forests, gorges, and streams, while offering beautiful, open Himalayan views, including the peaks of Dhampus, Tukuche, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Gangapurna, Fishtail, and Manaslu. The trail starts in Galeshor following a drive from Pokhara. Over the next several days, we stay in Banskharka, Nagi, Mohore, Danda Kharka, and Tilkot. You will help develop the local education system while enjoying their wonderful hospitality and homestay facilities.
The Community Trek is a perfect foothill excursion with trekking in lower altitude. Nonetheless, two of the days involve elevation gains of about 1,000 meters. Feel free to contact us for more information.
