The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is the most popular trek in Nepal, leading to the base of the world’s tallest and most iconic mountain, Mt. Everest (8,848 meters/29,029 feet). The trek goes through beautiful mountain valleys, high passes, famous Sherpa settlements and exotic flora and fauna. During the trek, there are splendid views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nupste, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam and other peaks.
Everest Base camp trek Another exciting aspect of the trek is experiencing Sherpa culture, including their traditional villages, shrines and historic sites. Starting from Lukla, you enter into the Sagarmatha National Park and walk through beautiful valleys. The trek takes you through the fascinating towns of Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Tengboche and Pangboche, where the local people still follow traditional cultural and spiritual lifestyles. Several monasteries and Chhortens are the symbols of their beliefs and they are highly influenced by Tibetan Buddhism.
Everest Base camp trek You gradually gain elevation as the trail continues over glaciers and moraines, until you reach Gorakshep, following about a week of hiking. This is the launching point for both Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar mountain. Located at over 5000 meters, your walking will be paced by your physical fitness and acclimatization. Nepal Hiking Trek recommends that you include some extra days on your trip because flights out of Lukla airport can experience long delays and cancellations, even for cloud cover. For any queries, please feel free to contact us.
Everest Base Camp Trek Airport is popular as Lukla Airport. It is also known as Tenjin Hillary Airport. The smaller planes of around 30-40 seaters are used to provide the service to the passengers. The pilot is very professional. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla lasts for 35 minutes. Actually, Lukla Airport is considered to be the most Adventures airport in the world. It is located in Lukla valley at the lap of the mountain. The runway is smooth and well concretized. Sometimes, the flight from Lukla airport gets disturbed due to bad weather condition. At this condition, the flights are either postponed or cancelled.
Everest Base Camp Trek Cost is probably the most frequent inquiry made by the trekkers who are making their trip to Everest Base Camp. Even there is a trend to make a good profit by quoting less cost. How is it possible? Through the evacuation scam. But we should not blame that every company is doing this. If there is a big volume of the trekkers in the group on the same date and following the same itinerary, the cost will, of course, be less. The common and accepted cost is between $1200- $1900. While asking the cost, we have to be aware of cost includes and cost doesn’t include. This largely affects the cost of the trip.
Everest Base Camp Trek Duration varies from person to person according to their preference of itinerary. There are several itineraries for Everest Base Camp Trekking. Basically, we have a core itinerary which lasts for 16 days. However, we can complete Everest Base Camp Trek even in 11 to 15 days. Different tour and trekking companies offer a great variety of itineraries with different duration. And you can choose any of them. If are in rush and have the good stamina of trekking in the mountain, you even can complete this trekking in 11 days. But, significantly, we can not escape acclimatization. We also recommend you to have some spare days if you are making a trip to the Everest region because the Lukla flight may get delayed due to bad weather condition.
Everest Base Camp Trek Height is from 1400m to 5545m. Kathmandu which is the starting point of Everest Base Camp Trekking is at 536400m high and Kalapatthar is the highest point we arrive at which is at 5545m high. Some other major heights during the trek are Lukla at 2860m., Namche at 3440m, Lobuche at 4920m. and Everest Base Camp at 5364m. We stop for acclimatization at Namche. If we go faster to the higher elevation, there is the possibility of altitude sickness.
Everest Base Camp Trek Clothing is one of the significant things to know before starting the trip to Everest Base Camp. The clothing depends on the weather condition. But generally speaking, we have to pack a down jacket warm enough to resist – 10 degree Celsius, a pair of the jumper, inner thermal coat, warm gloves and socks, sunglasses, cap, a pair of hiking or trekking boots, slippers, sun block cream. The daytime is normally sunny and warm. We sweat while trekking on the mountain. But the evening, night and morning become colder. So, if you have a personal sleeping bag, it is recommended to bring with you. Sometimes, even the day gets cloudy. for more details go to check The Nepal Hiking Trek equipment list.
Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation varies according to the trip you book. In fact, Everest region is the most populated trekking in Nepal. Generally, trekkers get normal accommodation. In this accommodation, the toilets will not be attached. It will be outside and it is common to all who share the same flat. Here, normal accommodation doesn’t mean that the rooms and beds will be nasty. The rooms, beds and toilets will be very neat and clean. But if someone really prefers luxury accommodation, it is also possible. For this, we have pay extra and book earlier. There are dormitories too. But we don’t recommend to use it.
Everest Base Camp Trek Elevation Profile is a must thing to know before making the trip to Everest Base Camp. We first step in Kathmandu which is located at the elevation of 1400m. Then, we take a short flight of 35 minutes to Lukla. And now we arrive at the elevation of 2860m. Gradually, we reach Namche. Namche is located at the elevation of 3440m. Again, the more we ascend, the more get to the higher elevation. We are at the elevation of 4920m. Then, we move to Gorekh Shep which is at 5140m. We climb Kalapatthar which is at the elevation 5545m and our most awaited destination is the elevation of 5310m Everest Base Camp. Normally, we don’t get altitude sickness below 4000m. We have to be aware of clothes and foods ay higher elevation.

Hari is one graceful dancer and nothing short of amazing! Everything was well-organized, from arrival in Nepal to the whole Everest BC trek and all the way to our departure. I loved the place he brought us for the welcome dinner, the food was delicious and cultural show was entertaining. Hari would accommodate all of our needs. His whole team would carefully monitor and look out for the well being of each and every one of us Filipinos, they would make sure everyone is having a sense of convenience especially at the lodges we stayed at. If I remember correctly, 9 out of 11 nights we stayed at lodges with private bathroom. We never stayed in dorm rooms. Now that's a real treat! They also brought with them apples for the whole group to eat that lasted for the whole trek. During meals, they would always ask us what we want to eat and drink, and all of them would serve us and wouldn't eat until we were all satisfied. Our group had a lot of questions and concerns too, and all of those were patiently answered and addressed. Unfortunately, during the trek, some of us acquired AMS, good thing Hari is very well experienced, taking appropriate measures for our friends who were not feeling well. On the other hand, Madan, our wonderful assistant guide, would always ensure our safety and be attentive to us. During break times, we played cards, made jokes, shared stories with them.
The service and hospitality they have given us, it's more than what 5-star hotels could offer. Somehow, I feel like the amount we paid is relatively inexpensive compared to what they've provided to us. Hari and Madan, they were both so professional and yet they come off as being friendly, humble, kind, warm and trustworthy, above all. I love them both and I'd trust them with my life!

Earlier this year my wife and I had our honeymoon in Nepal. After talking with some friends we chose to go with Hari as our guide. This proved to be an excellent choice and we would happily do it again. All told we spent a month in Nepal and Hari arranged everything for us from EBC trek to our trip to Chitwan. Hari is knowledgeable, hard working and fun. He picked great places for us to stay and his English was great as well. We found this to be very important after speaking with other trekkers that got sick and had difficulty getting their guides to understand they were having altitude sickness. There is no other service I would recommend besides Nepal Hiking Trek! Thank you Hari!!!!!

We made trip to Everest Base Camp in April 2017. This is our first time to EBC. But with Nepal Hiking Trek we had no worries. Hari and team guided us to EBC and back to kathmandu safely.
Hari is a cheerful person. Me and him sing resham firiri and dance along the trek.
Thank you for made our dream come true. Hope see you soon hari.

As soon as we arrived in Kathmandu we were made to feel very welcomed by Hari. He sorted out our trek very quickly, smoothly and for a great price compared to many competitors.
The trek itself was fantastic and we had a great guide (Raj) who we would definitely recommend. He spoke great English and was extremely informative and very caring. Words can't describe the views of the Himalayas and I urge you to go and experience them yourself and use Nepal Hiking Trek!

Great administration and communication from start to finish.
Nothing was ever too much. Did we encounter problems of course at that height for that period, but they were all dealt with in a first class manner.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this highly capable young man and his team to any future travellers.
Finally the price was fair and it was good to know the money was staying in the local economy.

I did two hikes with Hari (Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp) and not only was he the best guide I’ve had but I made a lifelong friend as well. During the hike Hari never pressured me to go at a certain speed, stay at a certain guesthouse or choose a meal for me. I could go at my own pace (which was fast) stay where I wanted and eat whatever I felt like. I can’t say enough about how accommodating he was. He knew the trails like the back of his hand, especially the Everest Trek, since he’s done it over a hundred times. It was one of the most magically experiences of my life and I’ll never forget it.
Before I met Hari I did one hike alone, the Annapurna Circuit, and after a scary experience I vowed never to hike alone again. I’m lucky to have found Hari, who is someone I fully trust since he has years of experience. Don’t choose any other company than Hari’s.

Back in 2014 myself and my girlfriend travelled to Nepal to complete the Everest Basecamp trek. After arriving in Kathmandu we found Hari's company to have very reasonable prices compared to most of the guide prices we'd be quoted before we arrived. Throughout the trek Hari was a charming guide, very funny, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
As it was part of a larger trip, we hadn't really allocated that much time in Nepal (2 weeks) so it was advised against doing the trek but we did it anyway and had a great time doing so and thank Hari so much for making it such an exciting trip. He's a great guide and a great bloke.

I have done three treks in Nepal with Taralal Dharel: Everest Base Camp, Langtang and Upper Mustang, which were all great (and safe) adventures, thanks to Taralal. He knows the ways, knows the teahouse owners, is always eager to help....and keeps you laughing. During some tough times Taralal even carried my day pack, but please don't ask him to do that! His good nature and sense of humor are a big plus on these long treks.
He is also good in a pinch and can effortlessly change plans when circumstances change. For example, he was my guide when the earthquake hit Nepal in April 2015. He calmly managed my safe return to Kathmandu and ultimately my exit from Nepal, even as he faced the loss of his village home and as wife was in her final days of pregnancy. On a less dramatic occasion, I developed a foot infection from an earlier surgery and we had to cut a trek short. Without missing a beat, Taralal diverted us quickly back and developed a substitute non-hiking vacation for the rest of my stay that included Chitwan and Pokhara.
I am proud to know Taralal and consider him a good, lifelong friend. I can not recommend him highly enough.
